Les Salons de Musique - Opus 1
The philosophy behind ‘Les Salons de Musique’ is to bring about original and exclusive meetings between preeminent musicians. These meetings take place in unusual and intimate venues. The musicians share their emotions with each other and with the audience: a recipe for unforgettable moments. Bertrand Chamayou is one of the most active young pianists in today’s classical music world. He is as comfortable playing the ‘standard’ classical repertoire as more avant-garde material, as his world première performances of compositions by Henri Dutilleux and György Kurtág testify. The thirty-something, who was trained at the Paris Conservatory, has two ‘Victoires de la Musique’ to his name (New instrumental soloist of the year 2006 and Instrumental soloist of the year 2011). He has worked with two of the world’s finest orchestras. In its short existence, the Zaïde Quartet has already played at the Festival in Aix-en-Provence, where the four ladies were awarded the HSBC Awards. Moreover, the Quartet won First Prize at the prestigious Beijing International Music Competition. Bertrand Chamayou and the members of the Zaïde Quartet are generational peers and know how to handle a wide repertoire. No strange bedfellows!
